Change the default folder where macOS saves screenshots without using Terminal. You set this in the Screenshot toolbar's Options menu, opened with Shift-Command-5.

  1. Press Shift-Command-5 to open the Screenshot toolbar, then click "Options" in the toolbar.
  2. In the Options menu, under "Save to", click "Other Location...".
  3. In the save dialog that appears, choose where to put the folder, then click "New Folder" to create a destination folder.
  4. In the "New Folder" sheet, type a name for the folder and click "Create".
  5. Back in the save dialog, click "Choose" to set the new folder as your screenshot save location.
