Step-by-step instructions
Change the default folder where macOS saves screenshots without using Terminal. You set this in the Screenshot toolbar's Options menu, opened with Shift-Command-5.
- Press Shift-Command-5 to open the Screenshot toolbar, then click "Options" in the toolbar.
- In the Options menu, under "Save to", click "Other Location...".
- In the save dialog that appears, choose where to put the folder, then click "New Folder" to create a destination folder.
- In the "New Folder" sheet, type a name for the folder and click "Create".
- Back in the save dialog, click "Choose" to set the new folder as your screenshot save location.
